As we develop our shopping habits here at casa de Crafty Garden Mama, we continually look for companies that give back. The Uncommon Goods catalog graces our mailbox several times a year and I was thrilled to find that they have a give back program when you checkout.
Uncommon Goods has a wide range of upcycled, eco-friendly and often Made In USA items in its inventory. I also love that they are a founding B Corp, which means that they meet a certain standard for wage levels, giving back and environmental impact. We are big fans of their catalog and have ordered from it frequently for holiday gifts and some little somethings for myself. A couple of years ago, I snagged a Pick Punch for my husband that allows us to take used gift cards and turn them into picks for his guitars.
I also recently ordered a Trinity Wooden Cuff that is perfect for my style and allows me to have a natural, Made In USA piece in my jewelry collection.
In addition to offering quality products, Uncommon Goods offers the Better to Give program when you checkout. They have taken a step to being a company that gives back via this program. It allows each customer to donate $1 to the charity of their choice. The four programs that Better to Give is supporting are RAINN, American Forests, Women for Women International and City Harvest. It’s a nice variety of programs that allow each customer to find a program that suits his/her passions or personality. They have graciously donated $50 in my name to American Forests and I am thrilled to support such an essential program. Since the program started 12 years ago, they have donated over $700,000! Their goal for September is to increase donations by 10%. So, if you are ready to start holiday shopping early, need some great hostess gifts for Thanksgiving (you should see their cheese plates and wine glasses), or have someone with a special birthday coming up, please swing by Uncommon Goods to see their Eco-Friendly Products and take a look at what they have to offer and be sure to donate at the end of your purchase.
