Welcome to Tuesday Greens #22: Ready for Spring!
It’s been a little quiet here on the blog in the last week. Tomato was down with the stomach bug and I realized that the weather is warming and all indoor organizing needs to happen now before I need to be putting in hours outdoors to prep and maintain the garden and get ready for spring tasks.

Speaking of which, who else is chomping at the bit to get started outdoors this spring?? I am soooo ready for spring this year! I did a walk around today to see what was budding (hydrangeas and blueberries have started), what was popping out of the ground (daffodils and crocuses are peeking out) and everything has defrosted enough for me to get my tools ready in the garage. I wish mine looked as neat as those above! I’ll let you know next week what I have cleaned up and how else I am prepping for the spring. Please feel free to let me know how you are getting ready for spring in the comments and link up those great green posts in the linky below. Have a great week everyone!!

Just discovered your blog from Twitter. Have a blessed day!
Thanks for stopping by, Robbie!
I’m so ready for spring too! I’ve been doing some spring cleaning inside already so as soon as it’s warm we can be spending our time outdoors!
Good call, Michelle! I have the last of our indoor stuff to tackle this weekend and then out we go!
I’ve never gardened before, but we want to plant a few things this year. I’m excited.
I am excited for you! Start with what you like and then expand the next year. Have a good time with it!
I cannot wait for spring and gardening time either! Every day the ground is muddy I get excited. Then too often it re-freezes!
So true, Heather! I am hoping for some lucky weather to get outside soon.
We are building a large above the ground, gated garden this year to keep out those deer:) Better get started…
Good idea with the gates to keep out the deer. Best of luck!
I’m nervous to start again, but it’s time!
Go get ‘em, Jaime!
I’m so ready to get my lettuces in the ground! For the Philadelphia area, when is the best time to start?
I haven’t done lettuces before, but they are ok in the cool weather. Give you local nursery a call and they will know best for your zone.
This will be our first year with a garden. I’m excited, and so is my daughter!
Best of luck with the new garden, Shary!
I can’t wait to grow my garden this spring!
What are you growing this year, Ashley?
i look at my weeded over garden and I get sad and overwhelmed. I want to grow some things again this year I just hate that first plowing over everything to get it prepped. I completely ignore the garden once the tomato plants come out.
Put cardboard down and it will kill everything and save you some time pulling everything out. Then add your topsoil and get it started again. Best of luck!
Oh no… I’m not at all ready for spring, apparently! I need to find a regional guide to show this first-time gardener when would be the best time to plant everything. Maybe after a trip to the library, I’ll feel a little more ready for spring! Thanks for the nudge!
Call your local nursery and ask to have someone walk you through what you need to start. Best of luck this year!
